One World Trade Center Lights Project

ABOUT

Robert.Margadonna@gmail.com

The sole objective of the Project is to compel the operators of 1WTC to seriously evaluate this concept proposal and initiate additional feasibility work,  culminating in the design, fabrication, and installation of color-capable LED neckless lighting on top of the cirular communication ring as described in the "WORK" tab.

NEXT STEPS:

1 WTC is the Crown Jewel of the New York City Skyline & One of the Most Significant Buildings of the 21st Century

One World Trade Center Lights Project is a  concept proposal developed to help realize and affirm 1WTC's place as the crown jewel of the NYC skyline. Spire structures adorn dozens of skyscraper rooftops in NYC. The circular communication ring rising 33 ft above the parapet is an important yet under appreciated  design element making 1WTC unique and memorable. One World Trade Center Lights Project proposes to optimize this unique, existing design element.

FUNDING:

One World Trade Center Lights Project is a self-funded, strictly volunteer effort.

HELP NEEDED:

One World Trade Center Lights Project is currently looking for a volunteer to help develop a 75-second video for use in promotion of this concept

Installation of LED neckless lighting on top of the circular communication ring will achieve the following:

  • Further integrate the spire with the super-structure
  • Add contrast & interest to the otherwise straight lines of 1WTC
  • Extend the roof height from 1,368 to over 1,400 ft
  • Ensure 1WTC's unique design attribute - the communication ring - is visible both day and night
